PowerFilter....

I blogged on this a while back when it first showed up in a youtube video (Excel like AutoFilter for the DataWindow).  Turns out Brad Wery liked it so much that he's now offering it through his PowerToTheBuilder site under the name PowerFilter.  Definately worth a look.

Bruce, Thank you for blogging about PowerFilter. I want to let you know about an update that should be on the website very soon. Brad and I have received several requests from international developers about translating PowerFilter, so I spent the weekend building in multilingual support. The developer simply calls of_SetLanguage(ai_LangNum) to select one of the following languages ‘out of the box’: 0-English (default, function call not needed), 1-French, 2-German, 3-Spanish, 4-Italian, 5-Pig Latin (I did that last one for fun and testing). All translations were made by translate.google.com except for Pig Latin, so I’m sure someone fluent in the languages may improve upon some of the phrases. A phrase list is maintained in an external datawindow and applied dynamically at runtime. So only 1 copy of the source code is needed. The developer can update the list to improve upon or substitute their own language(s) for the 6 that come pre-filled, and additional languages can be supported by adding additional columns to the external datawindow, so there is effectively no limit to the number of languages supported by 1 copy of the source code.
