Tuesday - Development Tools Plenary at #PBTechWave

Then it was turned over to John Strano who did a demo of developing a custom visual user object in PowerBuilder which can then be used in other .Net development tools. Sort of a preview of coming attractions for a session that he'll be doing later this week.

John then discussed TeamSybase and PowerBuilder MVPs.

Dave then did a preview of PowerBuilder 15 features:
HTML5 DataWindow
Dockable Windows (just change MDI window style from MDI frame to MDI dock) - also supports multiple monitors
Grid/gridsplitter control (two properties - number of grid rows/columns)
Standard controls in the toolbar
.Net Dataset Datasource for the DataWindow

Remove necessity to use GhostScript to generate PDF.

MAKIT - Mobile Analytics Kit- currently supports iOS, HTML5 version in beta

Dimitri Joosten of Van Havermart Groenweghe gave a demo of using PowerBuilder.Net, Expression Blend in order to take advantage of mobility and the cloud - included demo of application running on iPad and Andriod. He has session later this week explaining how.

Armeen Mazda then did presentation on Appeon Mobile - still in the lab, but want to show it to us to get feedback. Works with PowerBuilder 9.0 and up. Generates native apps for iOS, Android, Playbook etc. Are considering HTML5 generation as well (don't want to overlap with PB15 features.
